DIY of the Day: Deep Conditioning Henna Hair Treatment
An excellent way to add a tinge of color and to deep condition your hair, I’ve been doing this henna treatment for about two year and I love it. It darkens my hair, adding a deep burgundy black to my strands that’s best visible in the sun. So for someone like me, who’s scared of committing to a color I may hate, this is great! And the conditioning properties are incredible. Try it! (via moptopmaven)

diy of the day: yarn braids
i’ve wanted to put in yarn braids for a long minute now and i actually started them a few times, then chickened out. i haven’t had braids since i was a teenager and the prospect of spending an entire day braiding my hair intimidates me. this video gives me encouragement however. i’m starting today and giving myself a three day timeline, so that they’ll be in for the new year. check out more of [vee’s braiding tutorials] on youtube.

diy of the day: glittery peter pan collari think this is the cutest little  tacky embellishment i’ve seen all season. so subtly loud and quietly  flashy. i love it! i just worry about the glittery fallout. whatevaar… ‘tis the season for sharing, no?!

diy of the day: greek yogurt deep conditioner
it’s wash day! yaay! i’ve only used this once before, but i’m pretty confident in its magic. there was a time (when i had lots and lots of time) that i would mix up a concoction of a bunch of different foods to condition my hair (avocado, honey, eggs, mayo, etc.), but that got expensive and messy and time consuming. this conditioner is super duper easy and very inexpensive. plus it works like magic for real.

i add avocado oil, olive oil and vitamin e oil to mine, plus eucalyptus, peppermint and lavender essential oils for the smell. customize you own yogurt conditioner and enjoy!
