2011 resolution #2: get my driver's license
that’s all there is to it.
i’ve spent 10 years not knowing how to drive and now that my mom is knocking on retirement’s door, i feel especially obligated to get it done. or god forbid an elderly neighbor needs to go to the hospital or something. also, having a license will get me out of here… i can explore and go on road trips and travel to music festivals if i want.

gift boxes and edible packages are tons of fun to make, but i can’t say i’m particularly passionate about it. or rather, not enough to turn it into a full fledged business. doing it all day, everyday. not for me.

i hate the winter. it’s cold, like blistering cold. the beauty of the pristine settled snow is short lived in this city. by the start of this morning’s rush, much of yesterday’s wintery wonderland is reduced to mountains of gray-brown ugliness. then people forget their holiday cheer when they have to deal with delays on already limited metro service....
